Since 2016, The #FatBikeFondo has been a part of Stanley Winterfest. Although it is now a stand-alone event, the courses are the same as prior years with a 30 km and 40 km option and two aid station stops.

This 40k or 30k event was previously a part of the Annual Stanley Winterfest.
The #FBFStanley ride winds through exciting and varied terrain all given the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains. As in years past, the Fondo will begin and end at the Stanley High Country Inn.
A traditional Gran Fondo is a long-distance road cycling ride originating in Italy in 1970 and roughly translates into English as "Big Ride". The starts are done en masse, and the format allows for riders of every level to participate. Traditionally a large meal is served to the participants at the end of the event, and roads are shut down.
Dating back to 2016, the weirdos in Stanley, held the first Fat Bike Fondo. In our version of the Fondo, your Big Ride is accomplished on a Fat Bike, hence, the Fat Bike Fondo. Afterward, a keg waiting for the riders!
The Fat Bike Fondo courses are the same as in prior years with a 30km and 40km option. Look for the two aid station stops along the way. We also have a new event logo and riders will get a long sleeve t-shirt and a goody bag with their entry.

Challenge, Not Competition
The #FatBikeFondo is held in beautiful Stanley, Idaho. Nestled in the Sawtooth Mountain Range, this ride goes into National Forest Service land.
For this reason, #FBFStanley is considered a gathering, not a race.
With the beautiful, but extreme winter conditions, this ride is truly a testament to your ability to endure.
