Stanley Winterfest is all about...

GIVING BACK.

Stanley Winterfest is a nonprofit. The mission of #StanleyWinterfest is to promote the business and nonprofit community in Stanley, Idaho through winter recreation

Here are some fun facts:

  • We were established in 2020.
  • We are a 501(c)3 organization.
  • This is locally run by volunteers.

Giving Back Year After Year

All proceeds go back to the community through nonprofit grants. Here are the 2026 grant recipients:

  • Sawtooth Valley Rural Fire District has been awarded a grant in the amount of $2,000 to be used to repair six large garage doors and general building repairs.
  • Stanley School Parents Association has been awarded $2,500 that will help pay for the Missoula Children’s Theatre program. This funding will allow students in kindergarten through 10th grade to participate in a full theatrical production experience.
  • Sawtooth Interpretive & Historical Association has been awarded a grant in the amount of $2,000 to support local historical preservation at the Stanley Museum. In 2022 the Museum’s roof was replaced with cedar shingles. Two other buildings on the property need to have the roof replaced as well. This funding will help in that process.
  • Marie Osborn Salmon River Clinic Foundation has been awarded a grant in the amount of $1,000 that will be used to purchase clinic equipment to improve patient and provider safety.
  • Stanley Christian Fellowship has been awarded a grant in the amount of $1,000 to be used for the purchase of audio equipment that will support weekly services in their current meeting space.

All proceeds go back to the community through nonprofit grants. Here are the 2025 grant recipients:

  • Sawtooth Valley Rural Fire District received $2,000 to repair leaking roofs on the firehouse and training center, which also serve wildfire communications and first responder training.
  • Stanley School Parents Association was awarded $3,400 for furniture and equipment in the school’s multi-purpose room, used for gym, cafeteria, assemblies, and community events.
  • Sawtooth Interpretive & Historical Association (SIHA) received $2,100 to support their 2025 summer naturalist program, which provides educational services to over 20,000 visitors in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.
  • Marie Osborn Salmon River Clinic Foundation was awarded $1,750 for upgraded telehealth technology, enhancing video visit capabilities for patients.
  • Salmon River Snowmobile Club received $1,000 to maintain and repair their snow groomer for winter trail use.

All proceeds go back to the community through nonprofit grants. Here are the 2024 grant recipients:

  • Sawtooth Valley Rural Fire District: Received a $1,500 grant for purchasing handheld two-way radios for volunteers, replacing outdated radios to ensure adequate communication during emergencies.
  • Stanley School Parents Association: Awarded $5,000 for the immediate construction of two new classrooms and a library at Stanley School.
  • Sawtooth Interpretive & Historical Association: Granted $1,783 to build a custom information kiosk and brochure rack near the Redfish Visitor Center entrance, along with custom wayfinding signs between the parking lot, visitor center, and the trail to Redfish Lake Lodge.
  • Stanley Ambulance (Salmon River Clinic Hospital District): Received a $3,717 grant to be used for purchasing a new ambulance.

Here are the 2023 grant recipients:

  • Sawtooth Valley Rural Fire District - $4000 for the purchase of handheld two-way radios for their volunteers
  • Stanley Skating Club - $1500 to purchase helmets with cages and sticks for the use of Stanley school students and other children in the community
  • Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association - $2000 to purchase pop-up tents, tablecloths, and banners to create formal “Wilderness Information” portals at trailheads.
